Featuring magnificent Doric style temples, houses and sacred buildings, Agrigento was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.

But there is much more to the city than just classical antiquity; it also boasts a historic Medieval city centre and some very elegant streets, including the Via Atenea, home to ancient buildings, the cathedral, church and museums.
